Quidditch Players Pie: As you know, quidditch players need a lot of energy to play this fascinating sport. So the best way to get this energy is with a good old pie. I found this recipe on Smith Bites and added my own touches to make this fantastic pie. Basically it's made with beef, cooked carrots and onions simmered in an onion gravy and a layer of mashed potatoes on top. All baked in the oven for 15 minutes.

The result was delicious and it gave us all the energy to play quidditch afterwards, eh..., I mean... to watch Harry play afterwards (yes, that's more believable).

Cauldron Cakes: these are a firm favourite in the wirzarding world of Harry Potter. They can be bought from the Honeydukes Express trolley on the Hogwarts Express or at Honeydukes Sweetshop in Hogsmeade.

I found this recipe in the amazing web Food in Literature and the result was a roaring succes. I could totally picture myself on a snowy day in Hogsmeade enjoying this chocolate fantasy. They were still warm inside when we ate them. Amazing!

On my next Bookish Recipe, I will share with you how I made these delicious cauldron cakes. Stay tuned!

Butter Beer: a Harry Potter party would not be complete without Butterbeer.

"Why don't we go and have a butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks, it's a bit cold, isn't it?"—Hermione Granger inviting Harry Potter to the Three Broomsticks Inn.

This popular wizarding beverage is served at numerous locations in the wizarding world and has a very slight alcoholic content. Our favourite trio of wizards usually go to the Three Broomsticks to have a butterbeer.

This recipe also comes from the amazing web Food in Literature and it tastes really good. Definitely a must have on a night like this.

After enjoying this fabulous dinner (with my Hogwarts jumper), we watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which was the perfect ending to this magic night. I hope you all enjoyed #HarryPotterBookNight!

Blurb: It's New Year's Eve, and Gemma and Spencer Bailey are throwing a house party. There's music, dancing, champagne and all their best friends under one roof. It's going to be a night to remember.

The three women bond over Gemma's dodgy cocktails and fortune cookies, and vow to make this year their best one yet.

But as the following months unfold, Gemma, Saffron and Caitlin find themselves tested to their limits by shocking new developments. Family, love, work, home - all the things they've taken for granted - are thrown into disarray. Under pressure, they are each forced to rethink their lives and start over. But dare they take a chance on something new?

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

Blurb: In love we find out who we want to be.

In war we find out who we are.

FRANCE, 1939

In the quiet village of Carriveau, Vianne Mauriac says goodbye to her husband, Antoine, as he heads for the Front. She doesn’t believe that the Nazis will invade France...but invade they do, in droves of marching soldiers, in caravans of trucks and tanks, in planes that fill the skies and drop bombs upon the innocent. When France is overrun, Vianne is forced to take an enemy into her house, and suddenly her every move is watched; her life and her child’s life is at constant risk. Without food or money or hope, as danger escalates around her, she must make one terrible choice after another.

Vianne’s sister, Isabelle, is a rebellious eighteen-year-old girl, searching for purpose with all the reckless passion of youth. While thousands of Parisians march into the unknown terrors of war, she meets the compelling and mysterious Gäetan, a partisan who believes the French can fight the Nazis from within France, and she falls in love as only the young can...completely. When he betrays her, Isabelle races headlong into danger and joins the Resistance, never looking back or giving a thought to the real--and deadly--consequences.

Welcome Home by Margaret Dickinson

Blurb: Two families. Divided by war. United by love.

There are some things which even the closest friendship cannot survive . . .

Neighbours Edie Kelsey and Lil Horton have been friends for over twenty years, sharing the joys and sorrows of a tough life as the wives of fishermen in Grimsby. So it was no surprise that their children were close and that Edie's son, Frank, and Lil's daughter, Irene, would fall in love and marry at a young age.

But the declaration of war in 1939 changed everything. Frank went off to fight, and Irene and baby, Tommy, along with Edie's youngest son are sent to the countryside for safety. With Edie's husband, Archie, fishing the dangerous waters in the North Sea and daughter Beth in London doing 'important war work', Edie's family is torn apart.

Friendship sustains Edie and Lil, but tragedy follows and there's also concern that Beth seems to have disappeared. But it is Irene's return, during the VE day celebrations, that sends shock waves through the family and threatens to tear Edie and Lil's friendship apart forever.

The Informant by Susan Wilkins

Blurb: Set in London and Essex, The Informant is a story of ruthless criminals, corrupt cops, obsessive love and the villainy that operates on both sides of the law.

As a drug-fuelled teenage tearaway, Kaz Phelps took the rap for her little brother Joey over a bungled armed robbery and went to jail.

Six years later she's released on licence. Clean and sober, and driven by a secret passion for her lawyer, Helen, Kaz wants to escape the violence and abuse of her Essex gangster family.

Joey is a charming, calculating and cold psychopath. He worships the ground Kaz walks on and he's desperate to get her back in the family firm. All Kaz wants is a fresh start and to put the past behind her.

When Joey murders an undercover cop, DS Nicci Armstrong is determined to put him behind bars. What she doesn't realize is that her efforts are being sabotaged by one of their own and the Met is being challenged at the highest level.

The final test for Kaz comes when her cousin, Sean, gets out of jail. He is a vicious, old-school thug and wants to show Kaz who is boss. Kaz may be tough enough to face down any man, but is she strong enough to turn her back on her family and go straight?

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists over there at The Broke and the Bookish. I'd love to share my lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

This week's top ten is about books you can't believe you haven't read from a genre. I have chosen chick lit because it's a genre I love and even if now I have broaden my horizons and read a lot of genres, it is still the one I enjoy the most. So it is quite unbelievable, even for myself, that I still haven't read these books:

Blurb: Pixie Marshall's freshman year of college ended two weeks ago, as did her residence in the school dorms. Which means she's in need of a new place to live and, subsequently, a job. She started working at Willow Inn because one of the job perks-and she'd use that term loosely-is free room and board. But what she hadn't realized is that her free room shares a hallway and a bathroom with the only person she was hoping to avoid for the rest of her life: Levi Andrews. As in: Hot guy. Handyman. Keeper of all her painful memories.

Once upon a time, they were best friends on the brink of being something more, but that was before everything went to hell. All Pixie wants to do now is avoid him completely, which might be harder than she thought. Because despite everything that happened before, Levi hasn't let go of his feelings for her either.

*First of all I would like to thank the publishers for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

Review: Best Kind of Broken tells the story of Pixie and Levi, two best friends that after a tragic event haven't seen each other for more than a year. Then, they find themselves living under the same roof, sleeping door to door and there is no way of avoiding the elephant in the room. Theirs is a love story but the love comes slowly. The story is not rushed, little by little we get pieces of their past and we start to understand what happened that made them the way they are now. But don't worry the chemistry is there from the beginning.

This is a beautiful story about friendship, loss, forgiveness and love with some humorous sparks that will put a smile on your face more than once. It is not a long novel, so the plot doesn't get repetitive like in some new adult novels where they get hot and cold a thousand times. And it turns out to be more meaningful and well developed than you might think.

With the alternate point of view from Pixie and Levi you get to know both characters quite well. And some of the secondary characters are worth a mention, the atmosphere in the inn is always fun and warm with everyone giving their unsolicited advise. Also, Levi's best friend is quite a character, I'm just gonna say that he has a goat as a pet and goes everywhere with it.

This was my first book by Chelsea Fine, but I am quite impressed. I found her writing fresh and enjoyable and I am going to check out her other books for sure.
