Today I am taking part on the Fiction Addiction Blog Tour for Waiting for Prince Harry by the amazing Aven Ellis. You can follow the tour here!

I was so excited to read this book that when I first got it, I devoured it and oh my god! It is FANTASTIC! It has become one of my favourite books EVER! Sorry for the capital letters, I usually don't like them because it seems like they are shouting at you but today is a special occasion, this book deserves capital letters because it is THAT GOOD!

Waiting For Prince Harry tells the story of Kylie, a cautious girl who has a lot of dreams for her future but has no idea when that future is going to come. She is a very lovable down to earth girl and I quickly warmed to her. Let's say that she just waits for things to happen instead of making them happen. But when she falls on the lap of a gorgeous ginger boy (even more gorgeous than Prince Harry, her secret crush) she starts an amazing adventure that is going to change her life forever.

The ginger boy in question is Harrison, a Hockey god with his own insecurities: he chose playing hocking over going to university and his parents were not happy about it. But when he meets Kylie in a bar, he quickly realises that she is someone special.

Kylie and Harrison complement each other perfectly, they make the other one a better person and that is crucial for a relationship to work. You really have to read the book to get how perfect they are. Aven Ellis writes such a lovely wonderful story! I love her style, she totally captured me and I was so hooked that it was impossible to put it down until I finished.

Needless to say, I fell totally head over heels for Harrison, he is the perfect man not only physically but with his character and way of life. Even if he is a celebrity, he is considerate, thoughtful, a good listener and a great lover! Total book boyfriend material!

After reading Connectivity (review here), the debut novel of Aven Ellis, I knew I was going to love this story. But it totally surprised me how perfect and amazing it was! She is a genius creating characters and I cannot wait for more stories from her! Get her books NOW! And enter our fantastic giveaway for a chance to win a copy of both Aven's books!

Another fabulous book tag: "my reading habits". I was tagged by Simona and Maryline. Thanks girls!

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I usually read on our lovely sofa. It is so big it has different spots to read but I usuall read on the left part.

Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I love bookmarks, you can find so many different ones it's crazy but I am crap at keeping them. I always lose them so I keep the special ones in a jar in my old bedroom at my parent's.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or certain number of pages?
I was going to say at the end of the chapter because it was the logical answer but I just realised that I usually stop wherever I feel like or wherever I am when my bus stop arrives! ;)

Do you eat or drink while reading?
I usually only drink. Specially tea. But when I am totally hooked I eat with my book or kindle next to my plate so I can keep reading while eating. This used to annoy my parent to no end and now it annoys my boyfriend too so I try not to do it (a lot).

Do you watch TV or listen to music while reading?
I try to watch TV while reading, specially when my boyfriend is watching a football match. But I usually end up so focused on the book that I miss all the goals or whatever in going on.
I usually listen to music while I read on the train or the bus so I don't hear other people talking or weird noises but I'm not sure if I am conscious of the music or not...

One book at a time or several at once?
One book at a time. Always.

Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere. I never leave home without my kindle. Actually the other day I forgot it and I almost had a heart attack in the bus when I realised!

Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently. I used to read Harry Potters out loud with a friend. I was actually trying to convert her into a Potterhead and it worked! But other than that I always read silently.

Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
NEVER. I am a rule follower... I wouldn't dare.

Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I am not good at keeping it like new. I think that old books that you can tell have been read lots of times have more character!

Do you write in your books?
No, I have never done it. Maybe if it was a book for school or uni and I didn't have a notebook.

Thank you Simona and Maryline for tagging me, I had so much fun writing this!

I tag Agi, Katie and Isabell!

The Blurb

Meet Lucy Hansen. She’s the richest teenager in the world – and possibly the shyest. She doesn’t flash her business to the paparazzi as she’s getting out of limos or send selfies while smoking salvia. No, Lucy hides behind her frizzy bangs, environmental causes and organic hemp-blend sweats. Her one true friend (and secret crush) Holden is the poorest kid in Beverly Hills – and probably the scrappiest. He interns for a famous private investigator, and when he asks Lucy to help him crack a case, her life turns from tame to tabloid, from glum to glam, from private to private eye. And when the trail leads directly to her hotel magnate father, it’s up to Lucy to solve the case by infiltrating Hollywood’s most elite and unwelcoming club: Celebutantes. Teens who are famous for, well… being famous.

Along the way, “LuHan” endures wardrobe malfunctions, fake romances, compromising videos-turned-YouTube hits, unflattering mug shots and – worst of all – a makeover. Now Lucy has to save her father, dodge the paparazzi, and keep her IRL ID on the DL – all while maybe, almost, possibly having her first real kiss.

If you’ve ever read the tabloids and wondered, “What was she thinking?” then HEIRESS, P.I. offers one possible answer.

The 23rd of April is one of my favourite days of the year. You might wonder why this day? Easy, it is the Diada de Sant Jordi. Sant Jordi is the Catalan for St George, the patron saint of Catalonia, the region of Spain where I have lived all my life. The Diada de Sant Jordi has two star elements: culture and love, represented by books and roses, and its main meeting point in Barcelona is along the Ramblas, which you will find packed from end to end with book and flower stalls.

Today is so special because: one, it is our own version of St Valentine's, usually men give women a rose and women give men a book to express their love; and two, today is also our day as Catalans, we are proud of our little nation and express it by hanging our flag in every balcony and promoting our culture and language around the world. This is why I have decided to share this special day with all of you with some pictures of Barcelona (taken this morning) and talking about how I live this day every year.

My Sant Jordi

When you I was a kid, Sant Jordi was so fun! I went to school but there were no lessons, instead we spent the morning creating stories, painting or drawing comics about this topic and in the afternoon we used to bring books to school and exchange them for other ones with the kids of the whole school. Then, the following Saturday, there was a festival in the school so parents could come and see us sing or act. I loved it! Moreover, every year I would get a rose from my dad and a book from my mum. I loved going to the castle of our town where there were lots of stalls with books and I could choose the book that I wanted.

When I got older, I used to go to Barcelona with my friends to enjoy the atmosphere of this day in the big city. And now I can't resist having a walk every year around the Ramblas! It is amazing. Everywhere is packed with stalls of books and roses, with people walking, talking, buying... And also you get to see so many Catalan and Spanish (and some international) authors because they usually sign books in the main streets. I remember a year that I saw Jorge Bucay (My mum's favourite author) and got a book for her that he signed! She was so happy when I gave it to her!

Book Stalls and Roses in Rambla Catalunya.

The Legend of Sant Jordi

But where does it all come from? The popular legend of St George we know today comes from 13th century. There are a lot of versions of this legend, but I'm going to tell you the one I know by heart: a dragon is besieging a village in Catalonia called Montblanc, forcing its population to feed it with their livestock until that runs out, at which point they have to satisfy the beast with their young maidens. A draw is held and the king's only daughter picks the short straw: she will be the dragon's next meal. Needless to say, the king doesn't want to see her gobbled up by the beast, so he issues an appeal, saying the man who slays the dragon will get the princess's hand. At this point a handsome knight appears, aca Sant Jordi. The fight commences and with one sweep of his sword he slits the dragon's throat. Once the dragon is slain, the drops of blood that fall to the ground turn into a rose bush that flowers in abundance. The knight picks the most beautiful rose of all and presents it to the princess before he disappears.

And from the blood of the monster, some beautiful roses flourished...

So here is the explanation of why men give women a rose as a sign of his love. But then why do women give men a book? The 23rd of April is also the day of the books. Around seventy years ago, a Spanish author from Valencia decided to create this day to promote books and reading and he picked the 23rd of April because it was the day that the greatest Spanish author died, Miguel de Cervantes who wrote El Quijote. This day became a success and soon both traditions got mixed in Catalonia (in the rest of Spain they only celebrate the day of the books, no roses). As a matter of fact, 23rd of April was such a success that the year 1995, UNESCO decided that the World Book and Copyright Day would be celebrated on this date. The date is also the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare, the death of Miguel de Cervantes, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and Josep Pla, and the birth of Maurice Druon, Manuel Mejía Vallejo and Halldór Laxness.

This year I got my boyfriend a book signed by the author. I hope he likes it! I can't wait to get my rose later today. But in the meanwhile I got myself a copy of Nolito by Ben Brooks, who was also enjoying the atmosphere of Barcelona this morning:

Me and Quim Masferrer author of El Foraster (for my boyfriend)

This morning I ran into Ben Brooks and decided to buy his book Lolito.

The first thing that I heard about this book is that Don Tillman, the main character, was like a book version of Sheldon Cooper. And as a big fan of the Big Bang Theory, I couldn't resist. Moreover, after finishing Beyond Grace's Rainbow (review here), that left me crying like a baby, I felt like I needed a fun read. After reading it, I can say that it was the perfect choice. The Rosie Project is hilarious.

Don, a professor in Genetics, is quite satisfied with his life. He has everything organised: when to get up, when to work out, when to go shopping and even what to eat every day so he doesn't lose time deciding what to cook and obviously doesn't waste time nor money in his shopping trips. But something is missing: a wife. He wants to find a suitable partner for himself to settle down and have kids in the future. Given that he is not really good with social interactions and that dating has proved not very successful in the past, he decides to start the Wife Project (you quickly realise that he likes quite a lot getting involved in "projects").

With the help of his two friends (yes, he has two friends in total), he creates a questionaire that women have to fill in. This way he will find his perfect match and will avoid not suitable candidates. But then, Rosie barges in his life. She is obviously not a suitable candidate for a wife (smoker, drinker, late-arriver, a barmaid!) but Don finds her immensely interesting. Given that his wife project is not giving results for now, he decides to help her find his biological father. They then start a crazy hilarious search to find the man that had a crazy night with Rosie's mother the day of her graduation: The Father Project (one more project, see?). During this project they get to know each other better and discover that they are having the time of their lifes together. A shame though that Don is not "wired" to feel love...

I really liked this book. It's definitely something different but I am sure that any Chick Lit lover would adore it too. I devoured it in two afternoons and I loved how Rosie appeared in Don's life and make him wonder about everything. She turned his life upside down. Moreover, the book has some hilarious moments (my favourite one was when Don learned to prepare cocktails, I could totally picture him!) that had me laughing out loud. Even with all the scientific and genetic data (I could follow it without any problems, so don't worry), this is sweet cute and heart-warming story. There will be a sequel of this book out on September: The Rosie Effect. I can't wait to read it!

Rating: 4,5

P.S. I have just seen the book trailer and it is the cutest! Check it out:

I have just finished reading the amazing Beyond's Grace Rainbow by Carmel Harrington and I have to admit that I still have some tears rolling down my cheeks. I was actually quite proud of myself because I had managed not to cry for most of the novel. Not because I was not warming to the book (on the contrary, I was totally hooked), but because Carmel writes a surprisingly fun story full of life, love and fighting. But then, I got to the ending and that was it, the floodgates opened and I was a complete mess. What an amazing, poignant, emotional story!

Beyond Grace's Rainbow tells the story of Grace, a single mom who finds out that she has Leukemia. Grace is an amazing character, as Liam defines her in the book, she is beautiful inside and out. She has had a complitcated life but she has grown to become a strong loving woman. But what makes her story so special is her group of friends. They help, protect and confort her in every possible way, showing what true friendship is about, putting a brave face when necessary but also just being there, crying and hugging when there is nothing else to say or to do.

Also key to the story are Liam, Grace's alcoholic exboyfriend, and Jack, their 3-year-old son. Although Liam disappeared of her life before Jack was born, he is back, assuring that he is full recovered and willing to prove to anyone that he is ready to be part of the family again and that he is trustworthy. To get to them though he has to face first the group of friends who are not going to make it easy for him. I have to admit that I didn't like Liam at first, I though that he was full of crap but little by little I warmed to him too. And Jack is the cutest, although he doesn't say a lot, when he says something he says it from his heart and you can see that he is going to grow to become a great man.

Carmel writes about delicate and difficult topics like cancer, but also alcoholism and others (I am not going to say anything else because I don't want to spoilt it, but there are some twist on the story that I didn't expect at all) with such tact and elegance that you have no other option but to get on the rollercoster of emotions that this book is. This story is going to blow you away, is going to make you cry and is going to make you laugh (not a lot of authors can achieve that). And it is going to stay with you. I am quite sure that I'll think of it every time that I see a rainbow.

I’m really excited to do this because it’s a bit different from your normal ‘tags’! I was tagged by Simona from Sky's Book Corner, you can check out her answers here! Chocolate book tag? I know, I was confused at first too but the idea of this tag is to match books with certain types of chocolate which really did prove to be a challenge but it was a lot of fun so here we go…

1. Dark Chocolate: a book that covers a dark topic

I have chosen Me Before You by Jojo Moyes because it is a brilliantly written and engaging story. The topic is hard but the characters show such determination and have such strong believes that it is impossible not to love their story. I read it shortly after watching the fantastic and moving French film The Intouchables, that also deals with the topic of tetraplegia and living with dignity. And although they have very different endings I think that they are both a must.

2. White Chocolate: your favourite light hearted/humorous read

This is a difficult one. But I will have to chose Can You Keep a Secret? by our Chick Lit queen Sophie Kinsella. I think it is probably the book (apart from HP) that I have read more times and every time, I laugh out loud. Funny, witty and heart-warming.

3. Milk Chocolate: a book that has a lot of hype that you’re dying to read

Right now, I guess it will have to be Divergent by Veronica Roth. Everyone says wonders about it and with the movie in the theatres, everyone is going crazy about it. Although I have the Trilogy in my Kindle, I have been avoiding it because I know that once I start reading it I am going to be so hooked that I won't sleep until I finish the 3 books. So I am waiting for the perfect moment to start...

4. Chocolate With a Caramel Centre: a book that made you feel all gooey in the middle whilst you were reading it

From Notting Hill with Love... Actually by Ali McNamara. I read it this year and it instantly became one of my all time favourite books. As a movie enthusiastic and Notting Hill fan, with all the movie scenes and the lovely love story (and one of the best endings of chick lit) this book is the perfect chocolate with a sweet caramel centre!

5. Wafer Free KitKat: name a book that has surprised you lately

The Guestbook by Holly Martin was a great surprise. Although I had read a lot of good things about it, I didn't expect it to be so original. Definitely one of a kind!

6. Snickers: a book that you’re going nuts about

The fantastic Waiting For Prince Harry by the lovely Aven Ellis. Great book with such a lovely story. I fell head over heels for Harrison, the main male character. I can't wait to re-read it again.

7. Hot Chocolate with Cream and Marshmallows: a book you would turn to for a comfort read

I have just realised that I have not included one of my favourite authors: Lindsey Kelk. I love her writing and her books are just like a conforting hot chocolate with Cream and Marshmallows. If I had to choose one, I guess I would go with the first one of the I Heart Series: I Heart New York because Angela already feels like family. But I think I have read all her books at least twice. I can't wait for her new book this summer!

8. Box of Chocolates: what series have you read that you feel has a wide variety and something for everyone?

I'll just say two words: HARRY POTTER.

Now I think that most book blogger have already done this. But there are still some that even if they have been tagged before, they haven't done it yet (I think) so I tag:

Maryline M's Bookshelf
Isabell Dreaming with Open Eyes

Today I am taking part in the Tasty Book Tour of Sprinkled With Kisses by Darlene Panzera. You can follow the tour here.

Sprinkled With Kisses is the latest Cupcake Diaries novel and it tells the story of  Stacey, who after surviving a hurricaine when she was a kid has become a little paranoid about disasters. She goes everywhere with her backpack where she keeps everything you migh need in an emergency. But Stacey is now ready to live a new adventure: she is going to manage Creative Cupcakes' stand on the beach. Hopefully, with no time she is going to earn enough money to pay off her debt and even buy her dream house. What she didn't expect was to like so much the sexy owner of the ice cream truck that is trying to steal all her sales. Can Stacey and Dave work together and become the perfect team or are they going to fight forever?

This is the first book of the series that I have read but I am certainly going to read more of these books. Darlene Panzera writes a cute summer love story that leaves you with a smile on your face. While I was reading, I could only think on cupackes (yes, I actually baked some chocolate cupcakes to eat while I was reading) and ice creams! Plus there is a recipe on the book that I cannot wait to try. Apart from the love story there are also some subplots like the cupcakes competition. I liked how Stacey evolved through the book and how she became a key member of the cupcakes shop crew. So if you want to enjoy a warm romance with some sweet treats, get this book here:

I am really excited to announce that the brilliant Waiting for Prince Harry by the amazing Aven Ellis is out. This is one of these book that if you love chick lit, you don't want to miss because: first, it is one of the best love stories I have read; and second, Harrison Flynn is a god, you will fall head over heels for him immediately. If you want to know more about this book, here is the blurb:

Kylie Reed has always been a rule follower. Organized and cautious to a fault, her dreams for life are often filed away for future use—when she has a house, when she meets her future husband, when she has been at her visual display job at a chic Dallas boutique longer. Kylie always has a reason for living her life in the future, not in the present, and fears not living her life to the fullest and reaching her dream of becoming a fashion designer.

The only exception to rules, of course, would be running away with Prince Harry. But living in Dallas and not knowing Prince Harry make this a non-option.

Or does it?

Because when Kylie accidentally falls into the lap of a gorgeous ginger guy—yes, even more gorgeous than the real Prince Harry—all bets are off. Kylie’s life takes some unexpected twists and turns thanks to this encounter. Could this stranger be the one to show Kylie how to live in the present?

Curious? Want to know more about these two? Go get it now here:

I had heart so many good things about this book that I was super excited to read it. And now that I have, I have no words to describe how much I loved and enjoyed it! I actually read it in one sitting because it was impossible to put down. What a great concept for a book: The Guestbook is an actual guestbook for Willow Cottage, a seaside guest house, and the guests are encouraged to write about their lifes and holidays in the book. This way we learn all about the different guests (some regulars and some weird ones as well) but also about Annie, the owner, Sophia, the cleaner, and Olly, a famous writer but also Annie's best friend and her first kiss too. Let's have a look at the cover:

Isn't it gorgeous? Well, going back to the story, I usually enjoy books written from different points of view like The One Plus One by Jojo Moyes or This Charming Man by Marian Keyes, but Holly Martin has gone a step further. Her guestbook is written in such a clever way! Thanks to all the messages from the guests and friends of Annie we can easily follow her story: a story of love, heartbreaks, growing up and making decisions. It is heartwarming and funny and Annie seems like the real deal: nice, welcoming, generous and with a huge heart. She definitely deserves to be happy again!

I really laughed out loud with some of the guests! But they all left their marks on the book and even with a couple of messages you could perfectly picture them. It was really nice to read about the regulars who went back to Willow Cottage a couple of times because you could follow their stories too. In conclusion, this is a brilliant novel, one of a kind! You really are in for a treat! So buy it NOW!
