A very bookish Christmas with Emma
Hi Emma and welcome to Alba in Bookland's Christmas feature. Let's start with your best Christmas present from your childhood:
So I was an early teen at the time and I had just become obsessed with hair, makeup and such like and my parents got me this curling tong by Carmen Girls. I swear I had never been so happy I curled my hair and any female that walked in the door for the next few months.
Mince Pie, yay or nay?
Oh definitelty a big fat YAY. Preferably warm with some cold custard.
A Christmas Day tradition:
I don’t do this as much now but when we were children every year we would get new PJ’s and after Christmas dinner but before dessert we would all take turns to bath/shower and put our new pj’s on. My parents would tumble dry them for a few minutes so we would feel all warm and cosy.
Favourite Christmas cover:
OMG I have to pick one….just one…..ok I’m sorry but I can’t pick one but here is a selection of my favourites.
Just For Christmas by Scarlett Bailey
Christmas at Tiffany’s by Karen Snow
I Heart Christmas by Lindsey Kelk
Who played Santa Claus the best:
- David Huddleston in the classic Santa Claus
- Richard Attenborough in the remake of Miracle on 34th Street
- Edmund Gwenn in the original Miracle on 34th Street
- Edward Asner in Elf
My favourite has to be Richard Attenborough in the remake of Miracle on 34th Street because I watched it so many times as a child.
Thank you Emma for stopping by and answering all my festive questions. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
