Happy World Book Day!

I only discovered the existence of World Book Day a couple of years ago. After I had started blogging, in fact. In Catalonia, we celebrate Book Day on April 23rd and it has always been one of my favourite days of the year. So I decided to join in with all the fun of sharing my love for reading and books on March 3rd too. Because book deserve more than one day (they actually deserve all the days in the year). They are such a key part of my life. They are my place to escape real life and live adventures, visit the most amazing places and basically have a great time. So today I've decided to write about one of my favourite books as a kid, Le Petit Prince.

Le Petit Prince is also one of my mother's favourite books so she used to read it to me quite often when I was a kid. I'm quite sure I didn't really understand the story but I certainly enjoyed it, visiting all the planets with the little prince and meeting such bizarre characters! For my 8th birthday I go the original French version and made my mom read it non-stop for weeks (she's French) until I was sure I understood everything (not that I didn't know the story by heart by then).

But Le Petit Prince has been a story I have found myself going back to frequently as the years passed. I really think you learn something new every time you read it. Especially as you get older. It's a truly fascinating story and people from all ages should read it. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend you do it. I'm sure it will not disappoint and you will have a new friend for life.

A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of going to a musical of Le Petit Prince and I had so much fun! To see my beloved characters in real life was such a treat! And, this year they are releasing a movie, to say that I am over the moon about it is quite an understatement.

Anyway, to celebrate World Book Day I have decided to run a little giveaway. The winner will win a bookmark of their choice from Aureate + Argent. I think these bookmarks are truly magical. The owner of the shop, Lauren, already runs Bookworm Boutique (and has the most amazing bookish designs) and has recently opened this shop to sell these amazing bookmarks. The giveaway is open Worldwide and the winner will be contacted via email. They will have 48h to claim their prize and choose one of these 5 designs. Good luck everyone and Happy World Book Day!

  2. Hi Alba, thanks so much for the giveaway! I'm not much of a dressing up person, but I do really love Hermione from Harry Potter, and would require just a robe, a wand, and a book in my hand :) Happy World Book Day! x

  4. I had to think for a while about this, but if I could dress up as any character I think I would dress up as either Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles (with all her awesome cyborg parts) or Kaz from Six of Crows. Or maybe Alina from The Grisha Trilogy! There are too many great characters out there, haha!
Thank you for the chance in this giveaway! :D

Which character would I like to dress up as? I think I would have a lot of fun dressing up as Rick Grimes from the walking dead. I love him.

  11. We are also huge fans of World Book Day. Luckily my little girl enjoys books just as much as I do. She already has quite a substantial collection of books :-). The children in her nursery always dress up for World Book Day (which is so fantastic). Our little girl went as Tinker Bell this year. I also very much enjoyed Le Petit Prince when I was younger. I remember it being one of the first books we read during a French lesson in school. Thank you for linking up to #TalkoftheTown, Alba.
