Top Ten Books from my Childhood or Teen Years I'd Love to Revisit

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists over there at The Broke and the Bookish. I'd love to share my lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

This week's topic are books that I read during my childhood or teen years that I'd love to revisit now. I read so many books that it was difficult to choose only ten. I finally opted for these ones because I would love to take one weekend to just re-read them and see if I love them as much as I did back then:
Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. I have to say that I have re-read this one more than once and I still love it as much or even more than the first time.
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
Le Petit Nicolas by Sémpe-Goscinny, Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Tintin by Hergé. My mum used to read to me in French, so we were big fans of the French literature. Actually Le Petit Prince is one of my favourite books ever and I have re-read it many times.

Grimm's Fairy Tales. My dad had a very old book with all their fairy tales and we used to read it together.
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. I read this one for school and was mesmerized by it.
Sweet Valley High. I only read some of the books, I'd love to read them all now.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.
Matilda by Roald Dahl. Another childhood favourite, I don't know how many times I've seen the movie too.

  1. Yay! Another Narnian fan! I was so into Narnia as a kid...woah, I just never ever stopped reading it. (I had it on audio and would listen to the cds on repeat constantly.) AND I LOVED TINTIN SO MUCH. I remember every holidays my brother and I would borrow ALL the comics from the library. They were our guilty pleasure. ;-)

  4. I read all of these and loved them all. But I didn't actually read Grimm's Fairy Tales until I was thirteen or fourteen. They're surprisingly dark for something that used to be considered common bedtime stories.

    1. Wow! We have (or had) similar taste then. True, Grimm's tales were a bit dark, they made cry more than once as a kid.
