I haven't done a Top Ten Tuesday for a while but I think this week’s topic is really interesting. So I wanted to join again. Do you ever read a book and wish you could step in and enjoy a coffee in the café from the book? I do all the time! So I've picked the ten fictional places or business I would love to step in the most!

The Comfort Food Café - Comfort Food Café Series by Debbie Johnson

I fell completely in love with this cafe and its lively community with the first book and with every new addition to the series, my love for this place only grows. Its lovely if not a bit crazy owner has created a heaven for all its regulars and they all have their own specials. A real sense of community.

The Palace Cinema - The Picture House by the Sea by Holly Hepburn

Polwhipple is this small village in Cornall, where everyone knows about everything going on but also where everybody is ready to help. I had lost a bit of its sparkle, until Gina arrived and revived the old cinema house, The Palace. She organises the most amazing and fun screening, in which people dress up and there are cocktail and ice-creams specially created for the movies showing. Wouldn't you want to go there?

The Practice at Larkford - Out of Practice and Practice Makes Perfect by Penny Parkes

I usually associate going to the doctor with bad news but I think that if I could go to the practice in Larkford, it would definitely make my doctor visits way more interesting. With sexy doctors, lovely pets, a local celebrity and a TV crew, this practice is the best place to socialise! Plus, the doctors are so caring and you can tell that they love their jobs.

Moonlight Hotel - Summer Nights at the Moonlight Hotel by Jane Costello

The Moonlight Hotel sits on the shore of England’s best-loved lake, Windermere, exuding vintage glamour. How amazing sounds this? I loved the setting for this lovely story and I would definitely love to stay in this hotel. I would also love to learn some Salsa.

Glamping Site - My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella

In this heart-lifting and inspiring story, main character Caz leaves a not so perfect life in London behind to help her dad open a glamping site. The ideas she comes up with are amazing and I would love to be able to disconnect there for a few days and enjoy nature. But maybe not join the courses she creates for her old boss...

Juniper Island - A Town Called Christmas Series by Holly Martin

This series has the perfect setting. I think I had never wished a fictional place was real so much (except for Hogwarts). Juniper island sounds just magical and I want to move there indefinitely. It's supposed to be part of the Shetland Islands and the northernmost point of the British Isles. It is also a prime location to spot the northern lights or merrie dancers, as the locals call them. And Gabe Whitaker has built an amazing winter resort with cabins, glass igloos and even a glass palace. Oh and reindeer! How cool is that?

Culinary School - The Plumberry School of Comfort Food by Cathy Bramley

I've read quite a lot of foody novels in which the story is set in a bakery or a tea shop and even if I usually enjoy these settings, sometimes I feel like I am reading the same story again and again. So I was greatly surprised to discover a very original setting for this one: a culinary school, with lots of fun course I'd love to attend, competitions and events.

The Canal Boat Café by Cressida McLaughlin

I loved the setting for this story: a canal boat. I've always been fascinated by these boats and every time I've seen one you can visit (on a tour or because it's a café or a shop) I haven't been able to resist having a look inside. So reading about The Canal Boat Café was a real treat. Especially seeing it flourishing as Summer started taking it more seriously.

Alden toy shop - The Hygge Holiday by Rosie Blake

Alden toy shop is about to close when Clara Kristensen arrives to save the day. Her creative and detailed ideas make the shop a great success and her window displays sound amazing. I really wish I could go there to see them and then buy a few Christmas presents.

Book shop - Lost For Words by Stephanie Butland

Who doesn't love a good book shop? But what makes this one so special are its characters. On one had we have owner Archie, he is a people person, easily chatting to everyone and with a certain eccentricity that far from making him arrogant and unapproachable made him endearing and generous. He would be a friend that we would all love to have. In the other hand we have the very special Lovejoy, who has worked in the shop for ten years and who definitely prefers books to people. I would love to just go there and have a bookish chat with them.

This week’s topic is our Top Ten Reads of the year. I've read 110 books this year so it took me a while to decided the ten best ones. The stories are all very different and unique (from different genres too) but somehow, they have all managed to stay with me during this eventful year. Here's my selection:

The Silk Merchant's Daughter by Dinah Jefferies. This was my first book by Dinah Jefferies and it won't be the last for sure. What an amazing and captivating story it was. I love the kind of books that transport you to another place, to another time (one you have no idea about) and make you part of it.

The Missing by C.L. Taylor. Another amazing psychological thriller from C.L. Taylor. It is so cleverly written and so absorbing that I completely forgot about everything else while reading it. Unmissable.

Our Song by Dani Atkins. An unmissable read. Heartbreaking but uplifting, it takes you on a journey where emotions play a big part. The four main characters are complex and layered. They feel so vivid, like they are part of your life.

In Her Wake by Amanda Jennings. For me, this was the psychological thriller of the year and definitely the author's best yet. It held me captive in its atmospheric pages for hours and I just kept telling myself one more chapter until the early hours of the morning.

My Map of You by Isabelle Broom. On her debut novel, Isabelle Broom takes us to the incredibly beautiful Greek island of Zakynthos. Only for this setting, you need to pick this book. And then, once you've picked it, you will discover one of the most well crafted stories you have ever read.

The Last Night by Cesca Major. I was completely blown away by Cesca Major's debut, The Silent Hours, so I started this book with really high expectations. I'm happy to report that it surpassed my expectations. The Last Night is an atmospheric read with so many layers and details. It captured me from the first page and kept me glued to it until the last word.

A Boy Made of Blocks by Keith Stuart. This story stole my heart. It has a lot of fun moments but it also portrays the difficulties and struggles that a family with an autistic child must face. I'm sure it'll be an eye-opener for many and will leave no one indifferent. Since finishing it, I have been recommending this book to anyone who will listen. Definitely worth a read.

The Plumberry School of Comfort Food by Cathy Bramley. I have reached the conclusion that Cathy Bramley cannot write a book I don't fall in love with. I have loved every single word this woman has written so far. With glorious food, lovable characters, a highly entertaining story, lots of surprises and such a fun setting, The Plumberry School of Comfort Food is the book you've been looking for.

The One We Fell in Love With by Paige Toon. Paige Toon has done it again. What a marvelous and unexpected story! As soon as I heard that this story was about identical triplets, I knew we were in for a unique and fun story. But the actual story completely surpassed my expectations.

The Girl from the Savoy by Hazel Gaynor. I found this story fascinating: Historical Fiction at its best, with captivating characters and a stunning setting. It's also a very well researched story with many layers that delivers a lot more than you might expect. A gem of a book.

This week topic is: In honor of Fall Tv, do a tv-themed topic. So I decided to pick my all time favourites tv shows. But as soon as I started thinking, I couldn't pick only ten so I divided them on different periods of time (and yes, there are still more than ten, can I say, I love TV).

Favourite shows from my childhood

Full House: I loved this show as a kid. My favourite character was DJ and I totally tried to wear my hair like her! Btw I watched Fuller House on Netflix the other day... I did not like it. I mean it was cool to see them all again but it felt a bit too forced.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-air: Who hasn't danced the Carlton? So good! I remember that on lunch time, this was on every day so as soon as all the seasons finished, they just started from the beginning again. I don't know how many times I must have seen it.

Seinfeld: when I was a kid, my dad had two favourite shows, Seinfeld and Frasier (which I also liked). So we used to watch them together. I loved Kramer.

Favourite shows from my teen years

Gilmore Girls: I loved Rory and Lorelai. They made such a good team. I think I've watched this series at least 4 times and it never gets old. I'm really looking forward to the new episodes.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: How cool was this show? Buffy was such a kick-ass heroine! I was not a big fan of Angel though, so I think the series got better after he left.

Friends: this is my favourite show of all time. I've watched the 10 seasons countless times and every time is just as good as the first. Best show ever.

Recent favourite shows:

Lost: well, now so recent but I have to say that I actually watched all the seasons after the series had already ended. I was completely obsessed (a bit later than everyone else...).

How I Met Your Mother: yes, I know the last season was not the best and the ending was actually really annoying. But I loved this series for 7 years before that. So it stills makes the top ten.

The Big Bang Theory: when Amy was first introduced, I really thought it would all just go down-hill but she has become a key character and I love her. They still make me laugh on every episode and I can't wait for the new season.

Modern Family: just hilarious. I love this crazy family and I can't wait for more.

Special mentions go to: Grey's Anatomy (I stopped watching it after the 6th season but then last year I caught up and really enjoyed it), House (actually, I haven't seen the last season yet, must rectify that soon), Scrubs (how crazy were these guys?), Scandal (Olivia is my idol, even if the last season was a bit meh for me), Saved by the Bell (I loved this show as a kid too)... and I'm gonna stop here!

This week’s topic is books that will make you laugh (or at least chuckle). I love a good chuckle so it was a bit difficult to pick only ten books but I think I have managed to narrow it down to quite a great list. Let's see:

Always the Bridesmaid by Lindsey Kelk. Or anything by her. I love Lindsey's sense of humour and her stories always go one step farther and have me in stitches.

The Love Shack by Jane Costello. Or anything by her too. Jane Costello is the queen of rom coms. She always comes up with the most hilarious situations.

How To Get Ahead in Television by Sophie Cousens. I read this debut last year and enjoyed it so much! During the story you get tips about the TV world that don't always end up being all that helpful.

I Followed the Rules by Joanna Bolouri. This is FUN stuff, in capitals. Also Joanna's debut, The List.

The Greatest Love Story of All Time by Lucy Robinson. Her books are packed with hilarious moments, a lot of swearing and quite a few twists. What's there not to like?

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. If you haven't heard of Don Tillman yet, you are missing out. There's going to be a movie, so get reading before it comes out.

How To Stuff Up Christmas by Rosie Blake. You don't feel like reading a Christmas book, you say? Then pick Rosie's debut, How to Get a (Love) Life. Both are really worth a read.

You Had Me at Merlot by Lisa Dickenson. Or anything by her. I just love Lisa and her crazy sense of humour and her stories always make me laugh and chuckle like there's no tomorrow.

The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. Or anything by her too. I think I am here today thanks to this woman and her fabulous books. The funniest ones for me would be this one and Twenties Girl.

The Vintage Guide of Love and Romance by Kirsty Greenwood. Starring Jessica Beam, aka my imaginary best friend. Seriously, this is GOOD stuff, yes, in capitals again.

Spring is one of my favourite seasons because it feels a bit like everything wakes up and comes to life after the grey and cold winter and with books I have the same feeling. Plus, some of my most anticipated books of this year are coming out very soon! Well, let's see what's on my (never ending) tbr pile:

Thrillers:

The Missing by C.L. Taylor. Probably the book I am most excited about. This author's books are so addictive, so clever, so dark and creepy! I cannot wait to see what she has come up with next. Good news, I don't have to wait until publication next month, I've got a review copy!

Follow Me Back by Nicci Cloke. I haven't read anything by this author but I found the blurb for this one very interesting. Social media play such a big role in our lives, especially in teenagers, so I'm curious to see what happens.

The Father by Anton Svensson. I've read some Nordic crime novels and thrillers and loved them so I hope The Father is up to my expectations. It's based on a true story and sounds very intriguing.

The Faithful Couple by A.D. Miller. Not a thriller per se but it's supposed to be a very tense narrative. I've heard great praise for this one, so looking forward to finding out for myself.

Romance:

Everything Love Is by Claire King. This is probably the most beautiful proof I have ever received and the story sounds equally beautiful. It's not out until summer but I'm planning on picking it up very soon.

The Night That Changed Everything by Laura Tait and Jimmy Rice. I adored their debut novel, The Best Thing That Never Happened to Me, and the early reviews for this one are raving about it so I couldn't resist requesting it on NetGalley and it's now on my kindle.

Somewhere Inside of Happy by Anna McPartlin. This book is going to completely break me, I knot it, but I am so looking forward to it!

The Wedding Date by Jennifer Joyce. Jennifer's books are always so much fun! This one sounds just up my street and I'm sure it'll bring many laughs.

Destination India by Katy Colins. I loved Katy's debut and I have been patiently awaiting the second installment in the series since then (it's been only a couple of months but it has felt forever).

Non-fiction:

The Time in Between by Nancy Tucker. I am trying to read more varied reads and I've decided to add more non-fiction books to my pile. This one handles eating disorders and gives you an insight into Nancy Tucker's life, described as an unquiet mind – a Wasted for the 21st century.

This week's topic is a freebie so I decided to share with you my most precious books. In the last couple of years I've had the pleasure of meeting several amazing authors both in person and online and I've been lucky enough to get some of my favourite books signed and dedicated by the author so my little collection of special books has grown and I'm very proud of it. It's been difficult to pick only ten of them to share with you, but here they are:

1) El Foraster by Quim Masferrer. Some years ago I got the chance to meet Quim Masferrer, a Catalan comedian that my husband adores. So I got his book signed for him and he wrote such a fun message for him. My husband was over the moon when he read it!

2) The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith. I won a signed copy of the Catalan translation of this book from the Catalan publisher. So I basically own a book that has been touched by J.K. Rowling!

3) The Day We Disappeared by Lucy Robinson. I fell in love with Lucy's writing after reading her debut a couple of years ago and I have devoured and loved everything she has written then. So imagine my excitement when I met her last year! Amazing book, amazing author!

4) Always the Bridesmaid by Lindsey Kelk. You probable know by now that Lindsey Kelk is the bomb! And I met her! And she knew who I was! And she signed my book! Total fangirl moment.

5) Letter to the Lost by Iona Grey. This was one of my favourite books of the year in 2015 and I had the opportunity to hear Iona talk about it and then talk to her about it! It's actually the first book she ever signed, so she wrote a big number one on it! Isn't that cool?

6) The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Lisa Dickenson. I adore Lisa and her books. I would absolutely love to meet her but until then I am happy with the copy she send me with the most perfect dedication!

7) The Time of Our Lifes by Jane Costello. When I went to an event with the fantastic Jane Costello last year, I had this fab book set in my lovely Barcelona signed by her.

8) The Two of Us by Andy Jones. Another book I really enjoyed last year. I was over the moon to meet its author and hear him chat about it.

9) The Judas Scar by Amanda Jennings. I hadn't read this book when I won a signed copy. But then I read it and it completely blown me away. It was one of my favourite reads of 2014 so I'm really glad to have this copy.

10) The Silent Hours by Cesca Major. This one is actually not signed like all the other but I wanted to include it because I'm quoted on it. It's always such a great feeling to see yourself quoted on a book you have loved! Especially with such a fantastic read like this one!

A Night In With Audrey Hepburn by Lucy Holliday: Another 2015 book I'm dying to read. I had the pleasure of meeting Lucy last summer and hear her talking about the story and I'm really curious.

Summer Nights at the Moonlight Hotel by Jane Costello: I was over the moon to receive a proof of Jane's latest. It's out in a couple of months and it sounds perfect!

Blueprints by Barbara Delinsky: I'm taking part on the blog tour for this one and I'm looking forward to starting it very soon.

Match Me If You Can by Michele Gorman: Michele's books are always fun and uplifting and I'm sure her latest will be no different.

The Girl in the Ice by Robert Bryndza: this thriller sounds amazing. After reading some of Rob's comedy books, I'm looking forward to starting this one.

This summer, one of the Top Ten Tuesday topics was exactly this. Back then I didn’t do it but I have been wondering since then which authors I have read the most books from and if they were actually my favourite authors.

After checking Goodreads and my memory (as I only started using it a couple of years ago), I was quite surprised to see the authors that came up. Some of them are from before I started blogging. I guess that’s because thanks to the blog I have discovered so many new and fantastic authors that I no longer have the time to read all the back lists of an author I enjoy. This is something I used to do a lot. When I discovered a new author, then I would read all the books they had published until then straight away. But now with all the new releases I want to read I don’t have enough time to do that.

Anyway, here are the top ten authors I have read the most books from:

1) Sophie Kinsella (14 books). No surprise here. I have read all she has written so far except for her latest Shopaholic release (which is on my kindle and I’m planning to read asap. Actually, I have also read one of her Madeilene Wickham books (even if I didn’t enjoyed it that much) which makes the grand total 15 books.

2) Lindsey Kelk (13 books). Also one my all time favourite authors. When I first discovered her, she was on her 5th book so I read them all in a couple of weeks and completely fell in love with her witty style.

3) Paige Toon (10 books). I first read her books when I started blogging as there were a lot of bloggers that were raving about her and her books and I absolutely loved her stories. In the last couple of years I have read all her books except for two (One Perfect Summer and I Knew You Were Trouble) but they are on my kindle ready for me.

4) JK Rowling (8 books). Obviously I have read all the Harry Potter books. Then I was a bit reticent to read The Vacant as the reviews were quite mixed. Last year I finally read her cosy crime novel The Cukoo’s Calling (written under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith) and really enjoyed it. I now have the other two books on the series and I am looking forward to starting them.

5) Holly Martin (8 books). An author I discovered thanks to blogging and who has become one of my all time favourites. Her stories are so fun and magical! The only books I haven’t read by her are her fantasy books. I have the first one on my kindle so I hope to get to it soon.

6) Marian Keyes (8 books). Another fantastic author. I have loved most of her stories and she is one of those authors I have on auto-buy. I still have one of her older books (The Mystery of Mercy Close) to read though!

7) Meg Cabot (8 books). Internationally known for her A Princess’ Diary Series, she has written tons of books. Although I have to admit I haven’t read any of her books for years!

8) Ken Follett (8 books). One of my mum’s favourite authors, we used to read his books together. I really enjoy his historical fiction novels.

9) Nicholas Sparks (8 books). I remember reading Message in a Bottle for the first time more than 15 years ago (also because my mum had loved it and passed it to me) and since them I have read and loved several of his novels. A bunch left to read still!

10) Aven Ellis (6 books). The fantastic and lovely Aven closes this list. I discovered her thanks to blogging too and I have read and loved all she has written so far. It’ll soon be 7 books as she’s just published a new story and I already have it on my kindle.

So here they are, some of my all time favourite authors are on the list. But I have discovered so many amazing ones lately that I hope to catch up with! But you know, so many books, so little time and all that…
