Blurb: The greater the Evil, the more deadly the game… When a rapist is found mutilated in a brutal attack, Detective Kim Stone and her team are called in to bring a swift resolution. But, as more vengeful killings come to light, it soon becomes clear that there is someone far more sinister at work.

With the investigation quickly gathering momentum, Kim finds herself exposed to great danger and in the sights of a lethal individual undertaking their own twisted experiment.

Up against a sociopath who seems to know her every weakness, for Detective Stone, each move she makes could be deadly. As the body count starts to mount, Kim will have to dig deeper than ever before to stop the killing. And this time - it’s personal.

*First of all I would like to thank the publishers for sending me a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Review: After the smashing success of D.I. Kim Stone's first novel earlier this year, Angela Marsons is back with the second installment of this fantastic series. After enjoying Silent Scream  immensely, I was eagerly awaiting Evil Games. Could Angela recreate the tension and the gripping feeling that surrounded her first book? The answer is yes. In Evil Games, I found myself, one again, devouring every page with my heart on my mouth.

In this story, D.I. Kim Stone is as determinate as ever to catch the bad guys, especially when there's a case of child abuse in her hands. She really is an admirable character, tirelessly searching for the truth and with a sixth sense for noting the slightest details. It's exactly this sixth sense that tells her that when they catch the killer of a rapist the case is not completely close. Especially after meeting the psychiatrist who was seeing the murderer, Doctor Alexandra Thorne.

As we read Alex's chapters, we soon discover her secrets and how differently she sees the world. The question is, how long it is going to take Kim to discover it. Kim certainly has caused a huge impression on Alex and she takes a special interest in her life, especially her past. Little by little, the story uncovers more of Kim's past and we get to understand this strong and cold woman better. But so does the doctor. With these two extraordinary women involved, I had no clue how the story was going to go as I never knew how far they were prepared to go.

Angela Marsons does not disappoint with her second Kim Stone Book. She gives us more Kim, more crimes, more bodies and, especially, more complex villains. She certainly is winning her own place on the top crime writers for me and I am already looking forward to the next installment.
