Christmas Fun Time with Jaimie Admans

This year I've invited several authors and book bloggers for a fun Christmas Interview. My next guest is author Jaimie Admans:

Would you rather spend Christmas on a turquoise water beach with a cocktail in your hand or in the Polar circle surrounded by husky puppies?
In the polar circle surrounded by husky puppies! There’s no contest for me! I’m British, Christmas is supposed to be cold! I wouldn’t know what to do with heat on Christmas Day! I’m one of those people who love the winter and loathe the summer anyway, I can’t stand being too hot and even our drizzly British summers get too hot for me, I look forward to autumn and winter all year, so Christmas on a beach would be my idea of a nightmare! Also, husky puppies! Who could say no to husky puppies?!

If you had to choose a book for a teenager who's not a big reader as a Christmas present, which book would you choose?
It would kind-of depend on the person. I love reading YA books, so I’d try to choose something that was relevant to their life and whatever they were going through at that time, anything they could find a connection with in the book. Failing that, I’d go for something like The Hunger Games series, it’s got something for everyone and appeals to different ages and interests, so I don’t think you could go wrong with something like that.

Is there a movie or a book you always revisit during the holidays?
Many, many, many! I always watch favourite Christmas films every year. Not so much with books because there are always so many fabulous new festive releases each year that I haven’t got time to read them and re-read old favourites, but it’s not that I don’t want to! Christmas movies are one of my favourite things about the season! I countdown the days until the Christmas movie channels come on and watch as many as I can, I love all those Lifetime/Hallmark/Channel 5 TV movies, but one of my favourite Christmas traditions is that every year we curl up and watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf, Gremlins, and The Santa Clause, at the very least!

What's your ultimate comfort food for Christmas?
Hah! A better question would be what isn’t my ultimate Christmas comfort food? I eat everything at Christmas. I’m trying to diet most of the year, but come mid-December, the diet is forgotten about until January! I love the chocolate that I don’t get the rest of the year, like Ferrero Rocher – they’re my favourites, and everyone knows that, so I usually end up with tons of them, not that I’m complaining! It wouldn’t be Christmas without a tub of Quality Street and Cadbury’s Roses, a tin of chocolate biscuits, and some Christmas cake! I also love it when the supermarkets bring out their bags of fresh nuts – every year I can’t wait to get my nutcracker out and smash up some walnuts and hazelnuts!

Who's your Favourite Christmas Villain:
- The Grinch
- The angry elf in Elf
- Old Man Potter in It’s a Wonderful Life
- Scrooge in a Christmas Carol
The Grinch! They’re all pretty good villains, but I’ve just bought a pair of Grinch socks so I have to say him! I also rewatched the film this weekend and I absolutely adore Jim Carrey, so The Grinch is definitely my top Christmas villain!

Thanks so much for having me! I love all things Christmas and really enjoyed doing this!
